"The Smith Family" is a comic strip created by cartoonist George Smith and his wife Virginia Smith. The strip first appeared in 1950 and was based on their own family life. It was syndicated and appeared in newspapers, including The Boston Globe, until 1997. The humor of the comic strip is derived from the experiences of parenthood and the daily occurrences of family life.
